Quality book printing is critical if a self published author wants to be competitive. Mill City Press pays careful attention to the quality of our books. With our experience in traditional publishing we keep abreast of trends and technologies in order to bring our authors cost effective, quality solutions.

We use a local book printer with over 10 years experience in producing and perfecting high quality short run digital printing, often referred to as POD (print on demand).

Defying the stigma that POD is synonymous with questionable and badly produced books, we can prove otherwise. Our books are virtually indistinguishable from those printed using the traditional offset method.

We are more than happy to send you a sample so you can compare for yourself.

We work closely with our printer

Most importantly, our production team has a close working relationship with our printer to ensure quality at every level of service. Because they´re local, we also save on shipping, and we can address problems quickly and in person.

Our printer has the following capabilities:

• Can produce a range of trim sizes from 3x4 to 9 x 11.5 inches (Note: Costs will vary depending on size)
• Any quantity from 10 to 2000
• They use 60# instead of 55# interior paper stock, in cream and white both gloss and plain
• Paperback or hardcover
• Matte and gloss cover lamination available
• 30-point quality control list checked by two people
