Submission to Google Books
Google Books is just one of the many places that readers and potential book buyers can visit to preview and research books. Google books is an online service provided by Google that is essentially a massive searchable database of scanned pages. Users are able to search Google Books by broad or very narrow terms and Google produces a list of links to pages that include those terms. When the user clicks on one of the results listed, they are taken to a Google-hosted web page displaying a scanned image of the relevant page from an author's book. The page also contains multiple 'Buy This Book' links, so that the user can purchase the book from Amazon or your author website.
Google Books is an exceptional and accessible tool and one that can really help lead someone to your book who might not otherwise have known about it.
You can choose to make just a few pages or your entire book available on Google Books and we handle the entire submission process for you as part of every Mill City Press publishing package. Submission to Google Books takes place once your author website and other online retailer listings are live.
Google Books FAQs
How does Google Books help market my book?
Google Books optimizes your book listing, so potential readers can find your book when they search for keywords that may be related to your book. Because your book listing page will include "buy" links, once a reader finds your book listing, they could purchase your book. Google Books also lists your book in their eBookstore.
Will my entire book be available on Google Books?
Only if you want it to be! The default percentage of your book that viewers will be able to browse is 20%. It is the minimum percentage that Google Books sets for all books. We can set it at a higher percentage if you prefer.
What if I decide that I don’t want my book available on Google Books?
You are not required to list your book on Google Books. Simply contact us and we’ll remove the listing for you.
