WHAT YOU GET:

- Up to 60 ads (2-3 variations per group)
- 3 months of account management
For the author who is really serious about generating traffic to their website,
Google Adwords provides some distinct advantages. Google Adwords is a highly targeted
advertising platform that allows you to get your book in front of web visitors that
are most likely to be interested in your book. In this service, we create a Google
Adwords pay-per-click (PPC) advertising account for your Website. We do all of the
keyword research, write the ads, manage their placement and continually optimize
them to make sure that you are getting the most value for your advertising dollars.
After three months, Mill City Press charges an account management fee of 20% of
monthly advertising spend to continue to run and monitor the account. For example,
if you spend $1,000 a month on Google Adwords, Mill City Press charges $200 a month
to manage the account.
You are not required at any time to pay any specific amount to Google for advertising.
Advertising on Google or other PPC Networks does not necessarily guarantee any level
of book sales, but merely provides a way to generate additional traffic to your
website. Service set-up will be completed within 20 business days of your final
sign off on the completed website. No ads will run until your book is available
for sale.
If you wish to set up an online advertising account on Yahoo and Bing (same account),
Mill City Press will quote a fee to set up that service. The same account management
fee would apply.
FAQs
What does PPC mean?
PPC stands for Pay-Per-Click and means that you pay every time someone clicks on
your advertisement. The cost per click will vary depending on the competitiveness
of the keywords we are bidding on. Since the cost can change on a daily basis our
Adwords professionals diligently monitor the account and make changes to keep the
advertising as cost effective as possible.
What types of books work best for PPC Advertising?
Typically non-fiction books do the best on PPC advertising. This is because the
topics contained in non-fiction books are much more commonly the subject of Google
searches than the topics of fiction books. This gives non-fiction authors a distinct
advantage in PPC advertising.
The search traffic is also much more targeted for non-fiction books. If you have
a fiction book, advertising under words like "fiction" and "fiction books" is generally
ineffective. This is because the term "fiction" is quite broad and would be very
expensive. The profit margin on a typical fiction book is not high enough to justify
such expensive advertising. This is why fiction books are typically not accepted
for this program.
Do you offer advertising on Yahoo or Bing?
We do offer these services as requested, but Google generally provides the best
results. These services are quoted at the time they are requested by the author.
How do I track the performance of my ads?
Monthly reports are sent to each author that participates in this program. Included
in these reports are the cost per click, advertising spend, conversion data and
number of clicks your ads are receiving. This information is valuable in evaluating
the effectiveness of the campaign.
