With the third week finished, it's down to the final stretch. Will Amanda make it?
My original goal was to split my word count between my fiction and nonfiction. That didn't happen... at all. But that won't stop me from completing the NaNoWriMo challenge. In fact, I'm still set to finish by Wednesday, the 25th. My original plan!
Can you say epic writing weekend?
Total counts: Redemption, 41,899; new fiction, 4,825; MCP content, 1,173.
What Worked... and What Didn't
I set out to have an epic writing weekend last weekend. I wrote about 7,200 words and pushed my daily average word count back up to 2,000 per day, which means if I continue at the same weekday pace, I should finish by the 25th.
What I did just this morning, however, was finish Redemption, my current WIP (work in progress). That means I have to pick up my other story, which I haven't touched in a while. But with only a few thousand words left to go, I'm not concerned.
While I managed to write a lot this weekend, it's not a pace I can sustain, and was part of a push to reach 50k. Once I hit that mark, my writing will drop back off again, especially as I move into edits of Redemption.
