Address Bar: The long, horizontal bar at the top of your web browser that shows the address of the web page you’re viewing.

Browser, Internet Browser, Web Browser: The computer program you use to view pages on the Internet. Common browsers are Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Safari.

Download: When you save a file from a website—or from your email—to your computer.

Operating System: The software that supports a computer’s basic functions. Common operating systems are Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, and Mac OS 10 (Yosemite, Mountain Lion, Snow Leopard, El Capitan).

Responsive Web Design: A type of web design that resizes the website to fit any screen—desktop, mobile, or tablet. This is different than a fixed web design, where the images and text always remain the same size.

Upload: When you put a file from your computer onto a website or attach it into an email.
